How Can A Painful Temple Lump Be Treated?

I was wondering, I have just noticed a lump on my temple starting. It s a not big maybe the size of a finger tip. It hurts to touch but doesn t give me a headache. When I bite down it hurts aswell. I do a lot of strenuous work but I m not sure if that would have anything to do with it or if I should see a doctor?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello!

Thank you for the query.

This lump is most likely a local skin infection. It may be caused by hair follicle inflammation, sebaceous cyst or any other skin problem. It has nothing to do with your work.
As it is painful, pus is most likely inside. That is why I suggest you to consult general surgeon with this issue. The lump should be incised, drained and removed. Please do not ignore the infection in this area as from temple to the brain is very close and such infection can spread to the brain.

Hope this will help.
Regards.
