How Can A Newborn Baby’s Weight Be Increased?

I ve been wondering about my baby s weight gain. He was in the 93% when he was born, the 66% at 2 weeks, the 53% at 2 months, and last week (11 weeks) he was in the 46%. Is that something I should be worried about? Do I need to be feeding him more so he s gaining more weight?

Hi,

Many factors come into picture when the newborn weight gain criteria are being evaluated by experts.

The body immune system of the child, inheritance are the main issues to be considered here.

The concept of giving more breastfeeding to make baby heavy is not palatable as far as society and medical persons are concerned.

Keep the weight chart of the baby on 2 weeks basis and do not hesitate until his vital parameters are normal, a child is playful with normal urine output.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
