Hi my name is Alicia, I was wondering if you have a liver liecison and you have a biopsy done and it came back negative and then another doctor want you to do a pet scan and the pet scan shows positive and lights up on the liver liecison saying its cancer how is that?
Sometimes biopsy is done in the wrong area of the lesion, especially the centre which could show only dead cells or necrosis. So this way the cancer isn't detected.
