How Can A Fractured Wrist Be Treated?

I had a fracture in my wrist about two months ago and they gave me a sling and splint. Well being homeless someone stole my splint and sling. My wrist has shifted to the right and my hand is numb but in a lot of pain. Will they have to brake it to fix it? Sorry to waste your time I m homeless and don t have any money. Thanks.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

You can go for a repeat X-ray and check whether the fractured fragments reunited in a good position or they are aligned in abnormal position.
If the segments are abnormally aligned or not united we have to go for a surgery where the surgeon break the abnormal segments the fix the bone in its normal position either with screws or pins. These are commonly done procedures and nothing to worry it. You can consult an orthopedician and he will direct you accordingly. In case you don't have any money, you can seek help from charity organisations.

Hope I have answered your query.
