How Can A Fractured Left Leg Be Treated?

I broke my Tibia in my left leg 3 weeks ago. I have a walking cast. Is is okay to walk without crutches. FYI- I have Osteoporosis and broke 2 bones in my spine 12/24/2016 and 3 ribs in June 2017. Both were from lifting something heavy. The Tibia broke from a fall. Per the x-ray the Tibia was weak from Osteoporosis. I have an account already.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

As I see you have a high grade osteoporosis and elevating heavy weights give you bone fractures. You know the cause, so try by yourself to treat the disease along with doctor medication. So, evitate heavy weights, wear suitable shoes to prevent falling, exercise as doctor prescribed to strengthen muscles. Also consult your orthopedician doctor for bone fracture specific treatment.

All the best!
