How Can A Fractured Jaw Be Treated?

I have my mouth wired shut due to a broken jaw. In the hospital I was able to take a subutex through a gap in the back of the side of the dentures. I am out now, and cannot get subutex until tomorrow. I had a half of a 40 oxycontin and got it through the same gap, however I cannot swallow it. It seems to be stuck in the front of my dentures. Will this eventually melt with my dentures wired shut? Do I have anything to worry about other than discomfort. Broken nose, rib, and jaw I hurt a lot. I don't have money readily available. I am just really scared. and hurting. I see my pain doctor tomorrow.

Hi..
Thanks for the query..

Yes, the tablet will dissolve gradually but it will create a bad taste in mouth till it is struck in between the teeth but there can be other problem of the tablet to get dislodged and get struck in throat while sleeping..
So once you should consult your doctor and get evaluated so that if possible they can remove it by using fine tweezers..
You can also drink plenty of water so that the tablet gradually get dissolved in it..
If you are under pain, you can take dissolvable painkillers so that you can drink them well and there is no problem of the tablets getting stuck..

Hope this helps..

Regards..
