Doctor, this is my 6th month of pregnancy..my doctor in the previous month anomaly scan diagnosed that my baby has a left pelvic kindney..so I want to know that can a corrective surgery possible to bring back left kidney to its original position after baby s birth? please help me giving correct information.
A fetal pelvic kidney is a condition that results when the kidneys fail to ascend to their normal position above the waist and remain in the pelvis region. No symptoms are present in the fetus. After birth, one-third of all children diagnosed with this condition do not have any symptoms as the rest of the urinary system would have developed normally. If the complications related to cardiovascular system or central nervous system or urinary system appears after birth, then it would need evaluation and need either medical or surgical intervention.
Hope I have answered your query.
