General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Generally, such a wound would take a few days to heal. Mostly it only needs to be kept clean. This can be done by daily wash twice of the wound with saline or clean water and then covering wit clean and loose dressing. This is all that is needed most of the times. If you find any discharge or gross swelling then you should see the doctor as sometimes antibiotics are needed. Make sure you have been vaccinated against tetanus. You can use some painkiller like ibuprofen for a few days for the pain.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
