How Can A Cat Scratch Be Treated?

My son was scratched by a cat last year and had him vaccinated. My cousin told me that the vaccine is still effective for 3years though im not sure about that. My son got scratched a little by a cat today and i m wondering if i should take him to the clinic to be vaccinated or is he still safe from rabbies he just had one last year? Hoping for advice. Thanks.
