How Can A Burn Wound On The Vulva Be Treated?

Hello. I had my first Brazilian wax around a week ago. After my wax I soon realized I have a small burn about the diameter of a pencil eraser on my vulva. It initially had a scab but this is mostly gone and it seems to be healing. My question is will this severely damage some of my hair follicles since I was burned? I am very worried about getting deep ingrown hairs.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

By what you have explained it is very unlikely that the burning is deep enough to reach the hair follicle and damage them. The best way to help it heal and avoid the hair ingrown is actually to keep the area clean, wash regularly with warm water, and do not pluck the hair or use razor but just shorten it by cutting it short. This will help prevent hair ingrown especially if you do have problem with that.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Antoneta Zotaj
