How Can Topamax Dosage Be Reduced?

Just realized I have been giving my son with special needs 200 mg am/ 200 mg pm of Topamax, and had been giving him 100 am/100 pm. Do I have to reduce gradually, or can I start giving him 100 mg am/100 mg pm tomorrow. ? Thanks.. My email address is : YYYY@YYYY

Hello,

If it is a question of only a couple of days then you can switch to the correct dose right away.

Otherwise, if this has been going on for a long time then reducing gradually would be advised, I would do it by removing 25 mg off each dose each week.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
