How Can Neisseria Meningitidis Be Prevented?
My grandson s camp had a child die from Neisseria meningitidis. Children who were indirect contact with that child are being given a single oral dose of ciprofloxacin. My grandson was not in direct contact with that child but they did swim in the same pool and lake. Can the bacteria be transmitted that way and should he be given the medication?
