How Can E.coli Infection In The Blood Stream Be Treated?

I had ecoli that got in my blood stream, causing me to become septic, both lungs collapsed ,pneumonia, last October, I was in the hospital for 8 days and was sent home with only 4 days of antibiotics. The past couple months I feel drained more and more, could the ecoli be back and should I have had more treatment to kill the ecoli from my system?

Hello,
the treatment for ecoli is antibiotics only. But before that we need to confirm the infection. So get complete hemogram test done and if shows elevated total leucocyte count then we can consider the possibility of the same. Which is less likely as your symptoms do not fit into those episodes. Hope this helps you.
