How Can Crohn S Disease Be Treated?

I have crohns disease. on my personal prescription information paper from the pharmacy under cautions it says that a rare type of cancer called hepatosplenic t-cell lymphoma. has happened with this drug. most of these patients were using this drug to treat certain types of bowel problems like crohns disease and ulcerative colitis. it then says this drug is not approved for use to treat bowel problems like these. my question is if the drug is not approved for crohns disease then why has the doctor prescribed this particular drug?

Hello,

This an autoimmune disorder under inflammatory bowel disease. Having two disease Crohn and ulcerative colitis. In ulcerative colitis the part of colon involves so can be treated with hemicolectomy or colectomy and other medical drugs whereas Crohn can occur anywhere in the gastrointestinal tract.
