Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi my 9 year old son has been on seretide (purple inhaler) for at least 2 yrs now and it remarkably improved his asthma. today I homeschool him as this was/has been the best way to manage his asthma condition. for the last eight months he has had no symptoms or signs so we decided to wean him off Seretide by cutting dose by half each day (which was 2 puffs morning and night with Singulair at night also) I cut dose down to 2 puffs at night and continue to give him his Singulair we have been doing it for a few weeks and now today he's off the Siri tired altogether and I'm hoping I've done the right thing he seems fine now with drawl symptoms we cut it down from tip of the night to one party at night and then one puff every second night and now today none! I will continue to give him his Sinclair at night. We are seeing ENT doctor at hospital (where he had his adenoids out in july) in a couple of weeks. I thank you for your consideration and advice, Sincerely, Joanne
