Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi My father is 80. he is having very sharp pain in both kidney areas. lower abdominal pain, and feels like he has to go to the bathroom. He was recently diagnosed diabetic. He has been borderline for most of his life (hereditary) and has controlled it through excellent diet and exercise. I have a problem urinary tract so I am familiar with UTIs. He will not do anything about it until my Mom leaves on a long planned trip tomorrow. He has forbid me from saying anything to her. She is a retired RN. He told me about this yesterday. He never shares any health concerns with me and would not have if the pain wasn't severe. He is a hardened yet humble retired AF Colonel. Should I break his confidence and tell my mother or do you think this can wait until tomorrow?
