Hi! I am a healthy 30 year old with 4 children. I always pass clots during my period. Especially in the beginning when it's very heavy. I didn't realize until talking to my friends that not everyone does pass clots. I recently started an iron supplement for low iron and Read that this could have contributed to it. About 6 weeks ago I started the Nuva ring and decided to skip my period (keeping it in for 4 weeks and then inserting a new one). I have had the new ring in for two weeks and am due to switch it out in 2 more weeks. However, I got my period this weekend while I have the Nuva ring in. It's not as heavy as before but for sure a period and not spotting or light bleeding. I just went to the bathroom and passed a strange looking clot. It was larger than a half dollar (typical for me) but instead of being dark red in color it was dark red with lighter red and even a fleshy clear color as well. What gives??
