Hello, I am severely bipolar with ocd. At least that's what I'm told. ( diagnosed about 7 years ago). I take generic Depakote, divalproex, 250 mg 3 times daily. I am experiencing much more frequent and intense manic phases. I have been taking Depakote for almost 2 years. Before that I was taking lithium but after a lithium overdose (not my fault...its hard to keep that drug in the therapeutic zone) and a hospital stay for lithium poisoning you can understand why I sought an alternative. Sorry, I'm manic now which means I will either talk or type about my problem until someone's ear falls off (I talk openly with my family and my doctor when I have one... I have Medicaid and something went wrong a few moths ago with my coverage so I have not seen my Psychiatrist in several months. also because of the snafu with this sort of insurance I have not had the necessary lab work(tests) for a person taking depakote. I have a scheduled appointment with my doctor on the 18th of this month because my insurance in now in effect. But I'm concerned about this and it is affecting my loved ones. Why are my manic phases speeding up and intensifying? My name is Will
