Hello - I have hypopitiutarism and have been taking cortisone for just three months. Fluid retention for a long time has been a bit of a problem when standing for any time at all. This afternoon I spent, in all about 45 minutes sitting in a car with a hard bucket type seat and during this type I felt as if I had Beeb bitten by fleas. Hot, itchy areas on thighs, inside knees, bottom - very uncomfortable! On returning home, with the help of a friend, we investigated! Several areas were very warm, red and when hands were moving over these areas, there seemed to be small, pea sized lumps under the skin. These areas were symmetrical! I have spent about three hours resting with legs supported and covered with lightweight blanket and getting up to visit toilet where I was able to see not TRACE of the condition! I have had shingles on three separate occasions and I did think that this was a possibility - not now but I ask for your thoughts on this strange happening. I have been in the care of endocrinologists since 1976 and feel that this may be a side effect of the cortisone which is the last of the 'cocktails' I must take for the rest of my life. Thankyou in anticipation, Jackie
