I am 37 and just had my second baby boy 6 months ago. I had no problems at all during pregnancy. I was induced with pitocin and was given an epidural. Immediatly after anesthesiologist administered a dose through IV into back my heart raced to 175/bpm. Then I felt tremendous pressure all over like a steam roller pressing on my whole body. Then contractions became so bad that I had to get another poke which they called a spinal this time. Then on first push I passed out for 30 seconds. I proceeded successfully with birth. But, ever since I ve had heart racing and palpitations with pounding. I have been to primary care doc, endocrinologist, cardiologist, etc. I m on a calcium channel blocker that s sort of helping. Everyone says give it time. Meanwhile, I ve had to quit my schoolbus driving job and have missed alot of my baby s first 6 months. I guess my question is what happened and how long do I expect to have this problem?
