Hi there,Thanks for writing in the possibilities I can think of are anxiety disorder,
Irritable bowel syndrome, Post menopausal symptoms, Thyroid disorders , Anaemia,
Hypoglycemia etc.I am assuming that certain investigations like
hemoglobin, TSH, blood sugars, endoscopy has already been done to rule out some of the above mentioned disorders .
You should be under the care of a good gastroenterologist. The doctor might prescribe some
proton pump inhibitors like
omeprazole or
pantoprazole to treat the stomach ulcers.I would advise you to sign up for yoga classes ,if you have a good yoga instructor in your area.Breathing exercises and
relaxation techniques might also help.Other general measures you could follow are :Avoid oily, fatty, deep fried or spicy food.Drink warm water at regular intervals.Have smaller frequent meals rather than 3 large meals a day.
Include Oats,Pasta, etc in your diet. Sufficient intake of fruits and vegetables. Avoid broccoli , cabbage etc.By trial and error method, avoid foods which seem to cause you discomfort and increased bowel movements.
Regular exercise 30 minutes a day for 5 days a week.
Stress tends to worsen gastritis and IBS... that is where yoga , exercise and relaxation techniques help. Please get back to me if you need further clarifications.Hope this helps.
Regards, Dr. Divya Kuttikrishnan
