Heard A Loud Pop In Knee When Stood Putting Weight On Left Leg. Pain, Sore In Leg

Hi. I was standing on parade today and when I tried putting weight on my left leg and straightening it I hear a really loud pop in my knee and so did the two people beside me. It started hurting instantly and I had to change my weight to the other leg. When I next put weight in it it felt weak and really sore. It has been 8+ hours since I hurt it and it still hurts. What could the problem be? What will help? I'm only 15.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi

This may be due to ligament or tendon injury that has caused pain. The reason may be over exerting during parade. Give rest, cold compression and mild analgesic like Ibuprofen 400mg and local analgesic spray will help you.
Have plenty of fluids and regular exercise to prevent the same episode again.

Regards
