Headache, Muscle Pain, Head Congestion. History Of Stomach Flu. Taken Nyquil For Fever. What To Do?

My 15 year old daughter traveled to New Mexico from New Hampshire. In NM she got a bad stomach flu and after 3 days, when she was on her way back to the east coast, she got so dehydrated that she was taken from Newark airport by ambulance to Trinitas hospital in Elizabeth NJ.
I drove to pick her up and brought her back to NH where she was making reasonable progress drinking and eating. Last night she wanted chicken parmigan for dinner.
I went to work today and she called me at 1:30 after getting up at 1pm to shay she was sick again. This time with a bad headache, head congestion and severe muscle aches. This last symptom was present in her earlier illness to the point that her limbs went numb, she couldn't move, and her eyesight went so she couldn't see.

She called be just after 1pm and I told her to take Dayquil, drink some ginger tea and just rest. When I got home at 4:30 I took her temperature and it was normal. At 6:30 she was complaining about how badly her muscles hurt. I got her to drink some powerade and eat a bit of pancake. I took her temperature a few minutes ago and it's 101.5 despite her taking Nyquil at 6pm.

What should I do?

Many Thanks,
Krista

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The symptoms that you have could be related to a systemic viral infection. This is likely to subside in next 2-3 weeks on good supportive treatment. Do take acetaminophen round the clock.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
