Headache, Heaviness In Face, Ear Pain, Was Dieting. Treatment?

I have had a headache for 3 days and just now experienced a pain so severe through my head it left me shaken. It felt as if a razor sharp rubber band was pulled then snapped from the back of my skull through my left eye. I am aware of my surroundings, know names, but i feel a heaviness in my face and my ear hurts. I'm 56 good health but have been dieting lately - Atkins

From the description provided, you seem to have an attack of Migraine (possibly Ocular migraine).

You should consult your doctor who will prescribe appropriate preventive medicines and for acute attacks.

Restricted carbohydrate intake as part of dietary regime can also produce dull headache.
