Having Sensations In Head, Tension In Neck. What May Be Happening?

i keep having this sensations like cold and hot flashes or tingling in my head. it comes on like waves and starts from the top of my head it feels. then I get a slight ringing in my ears. and tension in the back of my neck . its been occurring pretty sporadically now but its starting to worry me. any ideas as to what may be happening?

Thanks for your query. These unusual perceptions/feelings like cold/hot flashes, tingling sensation and ringing sensation in ears are likely to be part of aura associated with migraine headache though the location of headache does not fit into typical migraine. I would suggest you undergo an evaluation by a neurologist to clarify the diagnosis further. If neurological evaluation is normal, i would suggest a thorough psychiatric evaluation for anxiety disorders which can present with similar symptoms. Wish you good health.
