Having Pain In Shoulder And Fingers. X-ray Showed To Be Arthritis. Had Anxiety And Depression. Suggest?
my husband has been having pain in his shoulder and hand(thumb), especially at night when lying down. He got x-rays and the dr. said he has arthritis...He is a runner, 50 years old and in great shape, and travel a great deal for work, but deals with anxiety and depression and is worried that he has bone cancer.... the pain is usually worse at night. Does arthritis cause such pain. He didn't have any pain last month and it came up very suddenly. Could it be something else?
Generally, most of the bone cancers (with few exceptions) will produce dull aching pain and the onset is very gradual (not sudden). So the symptoms may be likely due to arthritis.
xrays will usually show up the arthritic changes in the involved joint.
The general treatment guidelines for arthritic joints involve - - Use of analgesic medications like tylinol, Advil, Aleve etc as needed - Physiotherapy involving gradual stretching exercises, muscle strengthening exercises etc will help
Hope this information is helpful. Good day
