Having Pain In Forearm Inside Of Elbow After Hitting Chair. Taking Ibuprofen. Having Bruising And Redness. Remedy?

Out of frustration I attempted to somewhat shove a pool chaise out of my way, the way my hand and fingers hit the chair, somewhat palm up and fully extended, when I struck the hair it seemed to bend back my fingers/palm and I instantly had unbearable pain shoot up the inside of my forearm inside of elbow. I thought I broke my arm. I had tingling in my fingers, and could not really curl my arm with my thumb facing up, if I went to go to use my arm, the underside of my forearm seemed to spasm and again extreme pain. I have been taking ibuprofen, which seems to help and also iced the area. It seems to be getting better slowly but now I am beginning to see bruising/ redness on the inside of my forearm about 5 inches up from my wrist, all the way up to the inside of my elbow. I am not sure if I tore something or just a really bad muscle sprain. Any Idea

Hi, Thanks for using HCM.

Your presentation suggest that you had injured your musle (underside of forearm seemed to spasm,bruising/ redness and extreme pain) and nerve(could not really curl my arm with my thumb facing up). Get done one xray to rule out any fracture at that site and give rest for that muscle. Check for nerve sensation at fingers and also all movements of fingers. Drink plenty of fluids, warm compression, apply local analgesic (spray) and take analgesic (NSAID) along with muscle relaxant to reduce spasm and pain. Consult your doctor for examination and management.
Hope I answered your question. Feel free to ask me if you have any further queries.

Wish you good health. Take care.
