Having Noticed A Raise In TSH Level Of 5.2

Hello Doctor. I am 28 yrs old female, weighing 65 kgs and 165 cms tall. Last week my medical cehck up showed that i have raised TSH leves of 5.2, with normal t4 and t3 levels. I seem to a]have all symtoms of hypothyroid. should i start taking medicines for thyroid?

hello,
You prescribed clearly your condition but you didn't mention if you are planning any pregnancy at the moment.
When the TSH level is raised with normal Ft4 and Ft3 values you should start treatment only if you have signs or symptoms of hypothyroidism or if the patient is planning a pregnancy. You shouldn't try to get pregnant with high TSH level because it may cause problems to the baby.
