Having Noticed A Hard Lump With Bruise & Grazed On Left Arm After A Fall

Hi Doctor I had a bad fall on concrete about two weeks ago and landed mainly on my lef hand and wrist along with my right knee. My knee felt very sore immediately and was grazed and bruised. Its still bruised now and has started to get a swollen hard lump on the knee cap. It is very painful to touch and feels strange like full of liquid likeability balloon when I touch it as well as the lump. Do you know what this is?

Hello,

What I understand with the history is there was a direct impact over the knee. So the first thing I will ask what did you try the RICE protocol? Also, did you take any painkillers or anything? Is your knee able to bend or it's painful to bend?

I will advise you to first take up an x-ray because there might be a possibility of hairline fracture at the site because of direct impact.

Next, the fluid accumulation may be due to injury so having it get with an orthopedist will be of good decision to take as physical examination stays at the first priority.

For the wrist there might be either a tendon injury or might be related to the bone if the swelling if persisting. An x-ray in a safer side is always a good choice.

Hope you take this matter to meet up an orthopedist as without having a physical hand in your case it is difficult to bluntly give a diagnosis which can make you panic which I do not want to.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
