Having Insomnia, Depression, No Energy, Anxiety After Taking Benicar 20 For Hypertension. Is There An Alternative?

I am taking Benicar 20 o hypertension. Having many side effects including insomnia, depression, no energy, anxiety, etc . I m also taking diltiazem180mg. Cannot take beta blockers as sensitive to them. Are there any other class of meds I ICould take instead of Benicar. Could I take lower doses of more than two meds and help side effects?

Hi,
Thanks for using Healthcaremagic,

After going through all the available details you are hypertensive and taking multiple drugs Diltiazem and Benecar 20 mg which is (Olmisartan) giving side effects .

If your blood pressure is not controlled then there are other drugs available like centrally acting drugs, alfa blocker and diuretics.

Please visit your physician and report these side effects to him and these symptoms may not be related to the drug. If they are due to drug your doctor may change the drug to another to control blood pressure.

It is possible to give combination of drugs to reach B.P goal with lower dose without side effects.

Please take less salt and even yoga and meditation helps in controlling blood pressure.
