Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

Thank you for your query.

Upper respiratory tract infections are usually viral in origin and when there is no improvement in 2-3 days an antibiotic is added. Your doctor rightly started Moxclav which shall take 24-48 hours to have its effect. Hence you should not expect the fever to be normal immediately.

It is very common for children of your son's age to have repeated infection. There is nothing to worry about it. You may like to read my blog on this subject at http://vardaan.net/blog/?p=226.

I hope I have answered your query to your satisfaction.

Wishing your son an early recovery.

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Relax.there is nothing to worry.it is common for children to get repeated infections till 5 to 6 years of age as they get exposed to new environment and there immunity is building up.

This time he is having respiratory infection which could be viral or bacterial in nature .
Continue with medication as prescribed by your doctor.
Give plenty of fluids, warm fluids will be soothing.
Give bland diet so as to maintain hydration and nutrition.

antibiotic takes 24 to 48 hours to act.

In case symptoms do not subside get him re evaluated by pediatrician.

Wishing your child good health.
God bless..
