Having Black Spots On Face. Diagnosed Lichen Planus Pigmenteous. Prescribed Topcort Cream. What Are The Side Effects?
i am having some black spots on my face. Doctor has identified that it is Lichen Planus Pigmenteous. Doctor advised to apply Topcort cream for 2 weeks and Elidel 1% for two weeks . Also I am taking Isotroin 10mg tablet. I could not find any difference and the black spot remains same. Is there any way to get rid of this (black spots) quickly? is there any side effects using the above medicines. Kindly advise.
Hi, Thanks for writing to us. lichen planus pigmentosus is an asymptomatic disease however cosmetically it can be very displeasing. The tretament provided by your doctor is in sync with the standard treatment protocol for the same. These drugs when used under a doctor's guidance would only be beneficial. Elidel or pimecrolimus gives somewhat satisfactory results in LPP. Please be compliant to the medicines provided, you might have to continue elidel for a month to notice response. Hope that helped.
