Hello. My 7 year old son has 2 insect bites that I assume are from spiders but honestly do not know. i do know that on the days he was bitten he was wearing long pants so again I assume Mosquitos can be ruled out but again who knows. Anyways, both bites are red, swollen, itchy, warm, hard, and painful to touch...... Help? Also west Nile was found near our home recently!!!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Nothing to worry.
It seems that due to bite there is allergic rashes giving rise to this problem.
Give him antihistamine like Benadryl for 1-2 days and he will be alright.
Apply ice pack or some antihistamine cream locally.
Ok and take care.
