Have Swelling In Knuckles After Having Lacerated A Tendon. Is It Normal?

Hello - I accidentally cut the top of my wrist 3 days ago which also lacerated a tendon. In the ER they applied a splint and I have an appointment with a hand surgeon in two days from now. I'm not having any problems but my kuckles are swelling a little bit. Is that normal??

Hi,
Yes this would be a normal response to an injury. There will be inflammation around the wound which will easily spread to the knuckles. It is likely to improve over the next few days.
I suggest you take paracetamol and ibuprofen if you are having pain. This may also help the swelling.
