Have Sinus Headache. Treatment For Pain And Mucus Build Up?

Hello, I have severe sinus headaches above my eyes. I had X-rays done and found that it was mucus build up
Above my eye lashes. The pain went away for two weeks after taking medication and using home remedies like
sniffing in the steam, sniffing salt water and so on. The pain is back and I went back to my doctor for stronger medication. Any advise that I can get to get rid of the pain and mucus build up???

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms as mentioned in your post can be due to:
1. Sinusitis (Inflammation/infection of paranasal sinus)
2. Tension headache
3. Migraine
4. Cluster headache
5. Any fluctuations in the blood pressure levels.

Symptomatic relief can be obtained by intake of pain killers.
But unless the causative factor is removed, the symptoms cannot be eradicated completely.
So, instead of taking self medications, it will be better to consult your General Physician & get a proper physical examination done.

Wishing you a Good Health.
Thanks & take care.
