Have Severe Pain In The Neck And Back

I'm 37 years old & was just diagnosed with cervical stenosis. I've had problems with neck & back since early 20's'
I've tried physical therapy twice & it did help· I also have degenerative disc disease with c67 herniated & bone spur
& my neck curve is completely backward from a healthy neck , ortho says surgery is needed soon, I've been having strange things, lately like my ankles & feet jerking abruptly just once while resting also once on ny head and once my whole torso jerked quickly I'm also having extreme pain & heaviness in my legs very stiff & nerve pain all over body
So a lot going on I go next with to see Neuro and seek second opinion I'm very scared of the future I'm having pain all day worse after work meds don't help much question if I have the ACDF with decompression is their a chance I could get worse I have lost strength in all limbs even nerve pain in genital area occasionally I work full time have 2 kids after working &standing all day I'm done can't do much from pain I'm very scared that once they do surgery I could loose more strength or get worse does that happen

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The pain that you are having is due to the nerve root compression caused by the disc prolapse. If the pain is persistent then a surgical decompression needs to be considered.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
