Have Numbness On Back Of Thighs, Weakness On Foot. Normal MRI, Low B12 Level. Could This Be B12 Deficiency?

My daugher has had numbness down the back of her thighs for about 6 weeks and numbness on top of her right foot and some loss of ability to pick up her right foot, though not total drop foot. She has no pain or weakness. Orthopaedic doctor does not think it is orthopaedic in nature. She has had an MRI with all normal results. Her CBC test did reveal low B12 level of 209 pg/mL. She has thalassemia trait but no anemia. She has been referred to a neurologist for an EMG. Could it be a B12 deficiency?

Hi, Welcome to Health care magic forum.
She has a deficiency of the B12, but there must be a pressure on the motor nerves of the right side.
She may need to have C.T. scan , of the spine for confirmation.
I to my patient with such symptoms prescribe injections of vitaminB1,6, and 12 , for 10 consecutive days.
Advise her to take balanced and nourishing food.
I also advise her to have physio therapy.
Wishing for a quick and complete recovery. Thank you.
