Have Large Lesion, Sore On Temple, Headache, Fever. Taken Keflex And Bactrim. Is That Correct Medication?

i have a large lesion/sore on my left temple. it's about the size of a silver dollar, red around the edges, and draining yellow puss and clear fluids. i was seen in the ER last week on Friday and was told it was some sort of insect bite that had become infected and they put me on antibiotics and pain medication. Keflex, bactrim, and norco. two days after being on oral antibiotics i started running a fever of 102. fever broke after about 12 or so hours. I'm still on the antibiotics and pain meds, but it doesn't seem to be getting better. I'm in a lot of pain, which is not just around the infection itself. The left side of my neck hurts, my left ear, the whole left side of my face, behind my eye, and have had the most horrible throbbing headache for two days now. no medication that I am taking is helping it. Any advice you have for me would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
From history it seems there is severe infection following something bite.
Go for proper dressing after proper cleaning.
Continue with antibiotic and anti-inflammatory medicines.
If problem persisted afterwards then your doctor may go for higher antibiotic medicines.
Ok and take care.

Hi,
Thanks for contacting Health Care Magic
I had gone through query and most probably it suggests that you are suffering from herpes zoster.
Herpes zoster is a viral disease characterized by a painful skin rash with blisters in a limited area on one side of the body (left or right), often in a stripe.
The earliest symptoms of herpes zoster, which include headache, fever, and malaise, are nonspecific, and may result in an incorrect diagnosis. These symptoms are commonly followed by sensations of burning pain, itching, hyperesthesia (oversensitivity), or paresthesia.

If you have any doubt, I will be available for your query.
