Have Headache And Burning In Eyes. CT Scan Shows Mild Bilateral Maxillary Sinus Mucosal Thickening. Meaning?

Dear Doctor, I have been been having headaches for more than one month now. I think it's due to my sinuses. I also had a root canal repaired which was done on the upper left side. I also sometimes have burning in my eyes. The pain persisted even after the procedure. My physician suggested a CT sinus which came up as: mild bilateral maxillary sinus mucosal thickening, left greater than right and right frontal sinus is hypoplastic. Does this mean I have a sinus infection? Thank you.

Dear friend, welcome to Healthcaremagic!
I am Dr. Prasad Akole (Critical Care Expert- http://bit.ly/Dr-Prasad-Akole) and am glad to address to your query here.

Maxillary sinus mucosal (lining) thickness is suggestive of sinusitis. Your frontal sinuses (in the forehead ) are poorly developed (hypoplastic).

You are likely to have sinusitis (sinus infection) and sinus headaches.

The confirmation is only after a clinical examination by an ENT expert to look for sinus tenderness and other problems clinically.

I hope to have answered your query satisfactorily. I would be glad to answer any further queries. Take care and please keep me informed of your progress at http://bit.ly/Dr-Prasad-Akole
Good Luck!
