Have Flu, Asthma And Swelling In Hand For A Long Time

I've had the flu for 9 days. 45 yr old female, 180 lbs, asthma, but general good health. No fever right now, but my right hand is swollen and fingertips are tingly for the past 24 hours. Sinus pressure is ok. One ear (left) has fluid, but no pain. Just been doing OTC meds. I'm exhausted though from being sick. I felt like I was improving, but my hand is new and I'm not sure how to treat. I was doing some tedious cutting work yesterday with fabric, and I'm familiar with tendonitis. This feels different to me and has shown no signs of improvement with ice and rest. How long should I wait to be seen by a doctor? Thanks for your help.

Hi welcome to health care magic forum.
It appears that you had a filarial infection of the hand it also may contain all the symptoms of the flu fever, some times it mat start with pain of the hand, or the swelling may come latter.
I advise you to consult a physician for diagnosis and treatment. You may need to have a mid night blood smear test for confirmation along with other tests.
Avoid taking fruits, juices, ice water, icecream, cool weather to avoid cold and cough.
Wishing for a quick and complete recovery. Thank you.
