Have Dry Skin, Mood Swings. Was On Premarin. Had Thyroid Level Checked. What Is Wrong With Hormones?
Hi Doctor.....I'm 65YO....had a TAH 1/1986 and a BSO 1/1987..I was put on Premarin 2.5 mg at that time...stayed on it for a number of years until it got very expensive....Doctor changed me to Estrodiol 2 mg since my insurance prefers generic ..been on it for a number of years....still have night sweats;sleeping in 2 hr blocks;hair falling out;extremely dry skin and vaginal area;mood swings...had my yearly exam last week and ask to have my hormone level and thyroid levels checked..advised him that I feel better if I don't take the hormones (sweats, mood swings, interupted sleep go away)...test results were normal...I take 81 mg aspirin/ 1200 mg omega-3/ 800 IU vit-E and 1000 mg vit-D through out the day....what will happen if I stay off the hormones for a while??..Thanks for any advise you can give......Nancy
Dear Ma'm, Hi! as per your history you were around 38 - 39 years when you under went TAH and BSO and so you were started on Hormone Replacement therapy (HRT). Now that you are 65 years you can definitely take off HRT. regards!
