Have Dizziness, Headache And Slurred Speech. Tests Show Normal. Cause And Cure?
Hello I am a 34 yr female experiencing dizziness while sitting, standing or walking intermitingly. It happens several times a day. I have avioded going to the gym since the last time I went I got nausea and dizzy. Occationally I get upper left quaderant pain in my shoulder . PCP did a CT Scan that came back normal w/out contrast. Sometimes I get headaches and experience slured speach. Lately it is hard for me how to spell basic words like spelling (going with a j or a g)? Occationally it feels like I am out of breath and I snore while sleeping.
The possibility of migraine is likely in your case. How ever, this is a diagnosis of exclusion. Note that CT scan may not demonstrate certain problems of the brain and more so problem of your kind. I think you can get evaluated by a local neurologist. His clinical input will largely solve this case. The clinical interview by the neurologist will help us decide if a MRI scan of the brain is required or not.
If the MRI is normal, then you may benefit with a trial of anti-migraine medicines like amitriptiline, topiramate, valproate, propranolol. Learn to avoid stress and relax, follow a regular pattern of food and sleep habit.
Regarding snoring, if you are obese, try to decrease your weight and if you have thyroid problem/diabetes get these treated. Sleep in a lateral position as this will decrease the snoring. If all these measures fail, please consult a local sleep medicine specialist
Hope this clarifies
