Have Degenerative Arthritis In Bones. Injected Silicone. Worried About Rejection Of Larynx

I had a Neuro-surgon put a plate to fuse # 4,5, 6,& 7 cause,I've got degeneritive arther in my bones. I lost use of my rt. vocal cord ,when he went between the cords from the front neck to work on rt. side of necy bones. An E.N.T. injected some silicone 2 x's to try to make the rt. cord stay over closer to the lt.one but, the silicone has drained down & blocked my air way. It's work to talk with 1 cord. Now they think that it might help me if I go to Dallas or Houston to get a new larnyx. With M.G. & neg. antibodies I worry about rejection & end up mute. Now please ease my mind. Bobbie..

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The chances of rejection of a transplanted larynx in your case are difficult to predict beforehand. Without the actual surgery, the outcome is difficult to assess.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
