Have Dark Green Diarrhea, No Relief Taking Imodium, Kaopectate, Vaginal Spotting Seen
I have been experiencing chronic diarrhea for about a week and half, the last 36 hours it has been a dark green color, I plan on going to see a physician tomorrow...I have taken Imodium and Kaopectate with no relief. I am also experiencing vaginal spotting since last evening...my last MP was about 2 weeks ago and I am sure I am not pregnant...any ideas??

hi..thanks for using healthcaremagic.. you have green coloured stools and it is not treated with antibiotics, you are put on antimotility drugs which reduce the frequency of stools but not infection.. see your physician, and get tested with stool examination, culture and sensitivity since you are having this problem.. you need to be put on antibiotics with combination of fluoroquinolones and metronidazole group drugs..and oral rehydration fluids, probiotics like sporolac, helps.. multivitamin with zinc helps in reducing the problem.. you had spotting after 2 weeks of period.. it could be ovulation spotting.. see your physician for the dose and frequency of drugs to be taken.. all the very best.
