Have Bacterial Infection, Ear Pain, Throat Pain, Dry Cough And Fever. Taking Amoxicillin. Is That Sufficient?

My wife is taking amoxicillin disp 750mg PCH prescribed by the docter for curing bacterial infection. She basically had throat pain, ear pain, dry cough and mild fever. It was prescribed for one week. After taking few tablets she is now beginning to experience more throat pain than before. Is that normal?. Is that a side effect ?.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
This is not side effect.
Any antibiotic takes some time to start working, so wait for 1-2 days more to get its result.
If there is no response then infection is severe and this medicine is not effective.
Your doctor may go for still higher antibiotic like Azzithromicin etc
Do warm water or antiseptic oral liquid gargle.
Avoid cold drinks and junk food.
Ok and bye.
