Have Achalasia Cardia. Suggestion?

I am told I have achalasia cardia and basically, i will just waste away from lack of nourishment. The P.A. was not very encouraging about other options(i.e. botox inj., or surgery). She said it would lead to a feeding tube and then basically I would slowly die.
I have read more encouraging things on the internet than what she gave me. Oh, I am self pay as I was laid off from my job of 21 years last year. Not sure if this had any effect on her bedside manner.
What encouragement can you offer?

Never mind, I cannot afford it.

Hi,
Thanks for sharing your concerns to this forum,
Achalasia cardia is an food pipe motility disorder involving the smooth muscle layer of the food pipe.

There are certain lifestyle changes which help in this condition, like to eat slowly, chew very well, drink plenty of water with meals, and avoid eating near bedtime. Raising the head of the bed.

Certain food items citrus, chocolate, alcohol, and caffeine, need to be avoided.
There are drugs like nifedipine which help to relax the smooth muscles.
You have correctly found out there are interventions like Pneumatic dilatation and even surgery is possible.

Please take care of diet and consult a good Gastroenterologist.

Hope this helps.
Take care
Good Luck.
