Have Abdominal Pain. Had Natural Vaginal Birth

Hi, I am 22 years old and I have been suffering with abdominal pain for months now, I have been back and forth to the Doctors but don t seem to be getting any answers, the pain was in the upper middle abdomen but now it seems to be under my left rib and in my back, I feel sick almost every day and sometimes the pain is so bad I struggle to find a position to relieve it. I have an 18 month old Daughter and this pain is making life hard work. I had a natural vaginal birth however I had to be put under anesthetic to have my placenta removed. I am very good with pain but this is so aggravating..I have had an abdominal ultra sound and it came back normal so please please help me or give me some idea what this could be. Amy.

Hi Amy,
Thanks for writing your query.

After reading your post, it seems that your pain in abdomen is due to increased acidity in the stomach.

You should follow some precautions like :-
1. Avoid spicy and oily foods.
2. Donot miss a meal.
3. Avoid emotional/mental stress.
4. Avoid doing self medication especially with pain killers and steroids.
5. Drink lots of pure water daily.

You can take antacid like Omeprazole 20 mg daily along with Domperidone 10 mg for relief from your symptoms. Antacid in gel or liquid form is also beneficial as it forms a protective layer over the damaged mucosa of the stomach.

You can get yourself investigated for :-
1. H. pylori infection.
2. Endoscopy.

If the problem persists, get your examined and investigated by Gastroenterologist.
I hope this is useful to you.
Thanks.
