Have A Little Spot On My Nose About The Size Of Pimple. Is Pink. Should I Consult A Dermatologist?

Hi, I have a little spot on my nose about the size of pimple that is pink/reddish and has been on my nose for a year or two. I think it was a pimple but then I got sunburned on my face. Should I get it checked out by a dermatologist? I used to have a very tiny broken blood blister? under my nose that just went away that my dermatologist said not to worry about.

Hi,

Yes, you consult dermatologist immediately.

It seems that the pimple like lesion may be keratoacanthoma.

It is a solitary and begin as firm, round, skin-coloured or reddish papules that rapidly progress to dome-shaped nodules with a smooth shiny surface.

A central crater of ulceration may develop, or a keratin plug that may project like a horn.

Their precise cause is not known. Factors that may play a part include heavy sun exposure, contact with some chemicals, smoking, infection with some strains of wart virus, a suppressed immune system, and minor injuries to skin.

Trauma and genetic factors have also been associated.

It may be confused with squamous cell carcinoma (SCC),basal cell carcinoma,
actinic keratosis,seborrhoeic keratosis..etc

Complete excision is the treatment of choice.

Both laser therapy and cryotherapy have been used successfully in small keratoacanthomas.

Prognosis is excellent following excisional surgery.

I hope you might be satisfied with my answer.

So, you consult eminent dermatologist for perfect diagnosis and treatment.

Regards.
