Hello, my name is John and recently, i stepped on a large nail. I went to a quick urgent care to receive a shot that resembled Urine in color.? Isn t tetnus suppose to be white and grey. And the paper identified this shot as Tetnus/Dyptheria. I was prescribed docycycline as well 100mg 2x per day. for 10 days
Hello and welcome to HCM, The color of any liquid drug that you see may be syrup, injection ampulle, etc is largely due to the color of the glass of the ampulle. Thus it will as the color of the glass and not due to its own color. The actual color can only be determined when the drug is taken out of the ampulle. The injury that you sustained could lead to tetanus infection and other bacterial infections, thus you are given tetanus toxoid as well as antibiotic in the form of doxycyclin.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja p Wahal
