Hi doctor, Could you please explain to my my CT results in the plain English. CT revels large disc prolapse with ant. impingment. Degenerative osteophytes are noted from vertebral body margins from C4-C6. These are particulary more prominent at C5/6 level. Posterior osteophytes along with prominent prosterior disc bulge identifiedat C5/6 level, particularly more towards the left side compressing the anterior subarachnoid space and possible cord impngment. What kind of treatment I should do? Many thanks Stella

These are basically degenerative changes which are seen in the cervical spine (part of the spine which is present in the neck) due to ageing.I guess you are having neck/ shoulder pain. The pain is due to the compression of the nerves which actually comes out of the space within the spine. These finding might be suggestive of cervical spondylitis and its advisable to seen an orthopedist opinion. You shall be alright and nothing to worry.Hope I have answered your question.
